From L'ala d'Italia 1933: "Born in Ormea (Cuneo) December 25, 1901. Graduated captain of long course in 1920. First in the merchant marine, then, leaving guardiamarina from the R. Naval Academy, took embark on submarines. In 1924 he became a pilot and passed into R. Aeronautica. He was Comrade Maddalena's companion on flights to search for the shipwrecks of the "Italia" airship. He was promoted to captain for exceptional merit. He participated in the Transatlantic Air Cruise, flying over the South Atlantic on 6 January 1931, and was promoted greater for exceptional merits. He is a lieutenant colonel of choice for exams since March 1933. Since 1928 he is General Balbo's aide auxiliary."

From l'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in La Spezia on October 26, 1899. He graduated in engineering in December 1921, after having participated in the great war as an Artillery Lieutenant. In 1923 he took part in the first competition to lieutenant of the Air Force Genie, being among the first. In 1924 he obtained a civil pilot's license from the Breda Pilot School. For over three years he was in charge of testing prototypes and experiences in flight, spontaneously launching the parachute currently adopted by the Italian Air Force, during the experimental period of the parachute itself. He is the creator of a compass that presented to a regular competition was judged the best of the national and foreign types and then adopted by R. Aeronautica. He collaborated in the preparation of the Italy-Brazil Air Cruise. In the preparation of the current cruise he was in charge of the development of the equipment and engines, and in the performance of it has the technical responsibility of the flight material."

From l'Ala d'Italia del 1933: "He's a motorist since before the war. During the Italo-Austrian conflict it was at the Foggia School-Camp and at 66.a Squadriglia S.V.A. He participated in the famous Rome-Tokyo raid on the S.V.A. of the Coman-dante Ferrarin. He was Donati's driver in the records of height, duration and distance for touring equipment; and of Lombardi in the Vercelli-Tokyo raid. He participated in the Transatlantic Air Cruise, and is decorated with the gold medal for aeronautical value."
