From l'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Poppi in December 1900. A student at the Institute of Higher Studies, in March 1918 he was called to arms. Lieutenant in the 84th Infantry Regiment was part of the Inter-Allied Upper Silesian Corps, remaining there for the entire duration of the occupation. Returning to his homeland he was in the Fasci action teams; participated in the March on Rome and was appointed Centurion in the 96th Legion of M.V.S.N. The R. Aeronautica was founded and he asked to be enrolled as a pilot: he was admitted in 1924 and destined to seaplanes. He participated in the Transatlantic Italy Air Cruise Brazil and for this enterprise he was promoted to an exceptional choice to the rank of Captain."

From l'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Pistoia on 11 June 1902. In 1924 he obtained a seaplane military pilot's license along with his appointment as a Lieutenant. He has always worked in departments of employment. He performed experimental launches with the catapult. He is fascist of the eve."
