From l'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Reggio Calabria on July 17, 1902. He joined Aeronautica in January 1925, when he was already a Lieutenant of Artillery, and was then appointed as a Pilot Officer in Hunting Squadrons. He took part in the Italy-Brazil Transatlantic Air Cruise, and for this enterprise he was promoted to an exceptional choice to the rank of Captain."

From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born on 13 November 1902 in Nocera Superiore (Salerno). He patented a military pilot on 6 August 1924. He attended the 2nd Complementary Course at the R. Aeronautical Academy in 1926, and was promoted to the SPE official on 19 September 1927. He was a professional flight instructor at the School the Air Observation."
