From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Torremaggiore (Foggia) on November 6th, 1900. He graduated as a long-term captain in 1918, and was then appointed as a complementary ensign in February 1921. In November 1924 he moved to R. Aeronautica. He patented a seaplane pilot in 1925 and was destined for the Hydrocephalus departments. From August 1930 to August 1932 he served at the High Speed Department of Desenzano and therefore can boast the badge (red V) for having exceeded the horizontal speed of 500 km per hour."

From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Bronte (Catania) on 7 February 1907 from a military family. A16 years, fired long-time captain took about a year of sailing. On November 5, 1923 he was admitted to the R. Aeronautical Academy as a student of the Course «Aquila». He was appointed an airplane observer in 1925 and Officer of the Air Force in 1926. He became a military pilot in 1928. He was an air navigation teacher at the R. Aeronautical Academy in 1930. He was promoted to Captain for examination in 1932. He participated in the March on Rome."
