From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born March 20, 1899 in Ancona where he completed his nautical studies graduating at the end of 1916. In June 1918 he was appointed Officer in the R. Marina. From 1920 to 1921 he performed aboard RR. Dragamine, dredging of minefields in the upper and middle Adriatic. In 1923 he joined the R. Aeronautica. After obtaining the military pilot's license in 1924 he passed into permanent service in the roles of R. Aeronautica with the rank of Lieutenant ceasing to belong to R. Marina. He was promoted to Captain in June 1930. He is decorated with a bronze medal for long air navigation."

From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Casal Monferrato on October 14, 1903. He enrolled as a volunteer in the Pilots Complementary Pilot Course on August 20, 1922, and was named Military Pilot on September 11, 1923, and assigned to Hunting Departments. On 13 January 1928 he was seriously injured in a flight accident. It is decorated with a bronze medal of long air navigation."
