From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Milan in 1897. He is an electrical engineer. Arrived at arms in 1916, when he had already obtained the license of the technical institute, he was assigned first in the Battalion dirigibilisti and then in the Aviator Battalion and sent to Albania. In Valona, observer in the 257 ° Squadriglia Idrovolanti distinguished himself in numerous actions of air warfare, earning a silver medal for military valor and two crosses of war. In 1924 he obtained a pilot's license and was appointed as a second lieutenant. From 1924 to 1930 he had several destinations and tasks of a technical nature. During the preparation of the Italy-Brazil raid, it was especially dedicated to the radio-electric systems on board the devices. He participated in the Italy-Brazil Transatlantic Air Cruise and for this enterprise he was promoted to an exceptional choice to the rank of Captain."
