From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Isola Capo Ricciuto (Catanzaro) on May 15, 1899. He participated in the European war as an artillery officer. Transferred to the roles of R. Aeronautica, as a pilot, in 1923. He participated in all the air shows. He took part, as a pilot, in the flight transport of the Squadron that from Rome in 1928 moved to Mogadishu. In 1932 he won the first «Bibescu Cup». It is decorated with a bronze medal of long air navigation."

From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Arezzo on March 7, 1907. He completed his studies in Florence, dismissing himself in 1923 from the Technical Institute of that city. In October 1924 he was admitted to the Aero-nautical Academy as a student in the "Birea" course; in 1927, after having been appointed an observer from the airplane, he was appointed Officer in S.P.E. and in July 1928 he obtained a military pilot's license and went to the bombardment school, then he was assigned to a flock of Day Bombardment. He is a fascist from the eve."
