He was one of the first founders of the Fascio di Livorno and a squadrist of the "Disperata" of the Livorno Fascio. In 1920 he was repeatedly arrested for political reasons. He then became an associate in the Fiuman enterprise. Called to arms in 1922, after attending the Naval Academy and obtained the degree of complementary Ensign, he asked and obtained to attend a school of piloting and obtained the military pilot's license in 1924. Distinct for his notable qualities of piloting at the Employment Departments, he was assigned as an instructor pilot to the Hunting School. He took part in the Italy-Brazil flight: in Bolama he was left unharmed by a serious flight accident." |
