From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born on 1 November 1900: he is from Modena. In 1917 he was a war volunteer; he then moved to the Aviator Officers School of Montecelio, where he was appointed Officer and obtained a military pilot's license. In July 1927, promoted to Captain, he was commissioned by the Ministry to organize the first Italian gliding school in Pavullo, where he remained as commander and instructor in the years 1928-1929-1930. He has accomplished numerous experiences of hovered and sailed flight, and of simple and dual plane towing. In October 1930 he was assigned the 1st Experimental Center of Montecelio where he remained until May 25, 1931, the date of his transfer to the High Seas Sailing School. It is decorated with a silver medal of long air navigation. He is fascist of the eve."

From L'Ala d'Italia 1933: "He was born in Macomer (Nuoro) on 3 October 1899. He attended naval engineering studies. In April 1918, at his request, he was sent to the School by the official pilots of the Aviatori di Montecelio pilots, where he obtained the appointment as an officer and the driving license. He was also an instructor at Pavullo's sailing school and in 1931 he held the command."
